speak ~ act ~ live ~with gratitude

1)Sports banquet tonight (they consider Speech, Drama and Debate a sport here) Crazy, crazy speaker not sure what he was even talking about.  But it made me smile.  Of course the guy, speechies are hard to give speeches to.  I think the sports people appreciated him though.  Not so thankful for the banquet tonight, or the rugby one last night (I  am not rah rah sporty enough) , but thankful for what it means, it means that my kids are healthy and involved.

2)Almost done writing my last unit.  I know that some people in our lives think that we are crazy for giving so much unpaid time to Scouting, however I have seen first hand the difference it has made in many people's lives.  Boys, leaders and families.  It has been an honour to be involved in writing part of the new program.

3)Tonight at the sports banquet we won a gift cert. for a large pizza and a dairy queen ice cream cake.  Yum.  We are going to use the pizza to feed the missionaries tomorrow, and we ate the cake for dessert tonight....YUM!

1) The High School choir concert.  These kids are amazing.  There teacher is exacting and it shows in the results.  We enjoy every song.

2) Having a car.  Today I had to make three trips into town and one into the neighbouring town all for kids.  They are worth it...however I would not mind having a chauffeur ha ha.

3) Ashamed (slightly not much ) to admit it, but I like to have the TV on in the background when I work on things.  I don't remember the last time I sat and watched a show without doing anything else.  I like to have it on, but do other things at the same time.  It drives Shon nuts.

1) Every time I step out of my box just a little bit.  Yesterday it was inviting friends over for dinner.  Usually I would be a wound up wreck trying to make sure that everything was perfect...

Instead, I baked cupcakes with my kids, and had a houseful of kids before our friends arrived.  Was my house perfect...no, did it feel right...yes.

2) Books.  I know I say that all of the time, however, I love books :)  Most recently read?  "I Want It Now!" by Julie Dawn Coles, who played Veruca Salt in the original Willie Wonka movie.  It was a fun behind the scenes look at how the movie was made...before the advent of green screens.  :)

3) Our mattress, it so comfortable, and I love the colours in our bedding.  Turquoise, coral, and grey. Soothing.

I love coaching drama at the high school.

Joey is growing into a man that I really like.

Shon is progressing after his surgery and will hopefully be home tomorrow.

Reading on my kindle.

Both Ali and Joey have someone that they are interested in dating.  Both are really pretty girls and they seem nice.  Actually I know the girl Ali likes, they were in classes together all through school.  Joey's seems like a sweetheart too and just asked him to twirp.

After craft fair prep threw up in my room, I was able to get some of it cleaned up today.

I was sustained yesterday to my callings.

I really love our ward.

I saw a fox the other day while on a drive with Shon, and today I saw two pheasants and several beautiful hawks.  I love how pretty it is here.

The leaves looked like bits of gold falling and swooping today.  It made my heart happy.

Finally some of my crafting groove is coming back.  I don't know why it was so hard to get it going.  Fear maybe?

Shon cleaned out the dutch oven that he used at the rendezvous.  It was gross and I was not going to touch it.

Wonderful time on my trip to Kalispell with Joey and Lissie.   Tired, but it was a lot of fun.

I love to look at Alex's photos.  He has a wonderful eye for beauty.  I looked at the one of leaves and berries and know that I need to print it out because  it reminds me of Heavenly Father's love for us.  Our world feeds our souls as well as provides for our bodies.

I received a new calling today.  :)

Shon and Toby had a good time at their rendezvous.
